I’d say the problem is in us, as creators — not being able to distinguish essence from the form. We get so tangled in the process of creating something (which is beautiful), sometimes focusing too much on the craft and challenging ourselves to try new approaches, new solutions, new trends. When obsessed with form it becomes really easy to trick ourselves that we are creating something meaningful … something that actually has value, ultimately ignoring the essence.

“I’ve invested so much love, attention and time. Will someone use it?” And the question is wrong. It should say - “Why would someone use it? Would I really use it? Am I using it?”

Of course this is all obvious but it’s ridiculous how easily we ignore these questions. Sincerely if we did constantly question the essence of the things we create, at least 80% of the existing apps wouldn’t be made at all. Now that would really make the app stores better and cleaner, but it would definitely leave most of us jobless. :D
